Dont you get to a point where you arent even that much conscious of your hair? Is'nt that ONE part of the idea behind locks(in many cultures)to NOT identify with an image,as similar in other cultures where all the hair is shaved or cut off to take away from the 'vanity' side of hair and appearance?
To not get too far off topic,I would say that I have wittnesed a number of white people who are pretentiously prissing about with their dreadlocks, trying to appear to be 'humble' but are not.I have also wittnessed a very small few whites who are very undercover, quiet and humble, who have locks, and it doesnt seem at all as though they are 'defined' by their appearance or even care to be noticed.Perhaps its an attittude thing, more than an appearance thing...
Same way with herbs, many show boat and use Rastafari as an excuse to just be complacent and 'smoke the sacrament' and be a cop out...however,a very few MAY not do this. All in all, it seems like the externalities of herbs and locks have been taken up by those who dont want to refrain and step back from these 'externalities' and find a deeper meaning and cultivate attittudes and qualities that are in alignment with any conscious movement or philosophy.
More life...Bless...
