I am not going to try to figure out what Marcus Garvey thinks because he is not with I'n'I in this physical realm. But I will remind ones and ones of what he said.
To the Black peoples of the world, not just Rasta, Marcus said worship the God of Ethiopia. Worship God through the spectacles of Ethiopia. Look to the East(Afrika) for the crowning of a Black King. I'n'I Rastafari people from the Island of Jamaica saw Emperor Haile Selassie as THE God and King that Marcus literally prophesied of. Not one other group of Black people on the face of the earth took what Marcus Garvey said as literal as the Jamaican Black people coming out of slavery and so called emancipation. This might explain what cultural integrity means to the one who asked it under another topic I posed.
It was two years prior to the Coronation of His Imperial Majesty that Marcus uttered these word sounds. Bro. Howell(one of the architects of the Rastafari Movement) being a Garveyite then took to the streets of Kingston, JA and declared H.I.M. to be God and that black people should no longer pray to a white Jesus given to them by their former masters. He was immediately placed in an asylum. They wanted to declare him mad. Well they did let him out and this time he took to the streets of Kingston once again and declared Emperor Haile Selassie the first to be the King of Black people in JA and that we should no longer look to King George. This time they threw him in prison and charged him with sedition. This was even more frightening to the colonialist because here was a Black man, a Rastaman telling any Black man and woman that would listen that no longer do we need to praise a white god or give allegiance to a white king because we had them both in the Emperor of Ethiopian. Ethiopian being the phenenom that Marcus gave to the children of Rastafari. The blueprint towards freedom that they had never had before.
Marcus said let th Chinese man have his God, let the Indian man have his God, let the white man have his god, but by God let the Black Man have his God. We saw and chose King Selassie I as that God.
And that is what Marcus must have thought regarding the white man as it pertains to any Black Movement including Rastafari.
One Perfect Love from the Blackhearted Ithiopian.
