You are entitled to have your opinion just like I have the right to have my own based on the information I gained with research and looking at evidence. I will never believe or accept on face value that THE LIVING GOD and the Black messiah is Haile Selaissie simply because some African Jamaicans told me to. Unlike you, I take into account the facts about this man and his country. In all time, the Abyssinians rulers, like the Arab-Sudanese, believe that they are a "Semitic" people and openly denigrate being the African/Black. It is a bit like some African-Americans who pretend to be Whites, so to speak. Haile Selassie was no different. It is popularly known that Marcus Garvey criticized Haile Selaissie from the view that the Emperor openly defended his Semitic ancestry at the expense of his African lineage. Why do you think I should be silent about such anti-Black/African sentiments of the "African Ethiopians" by the "Semitic Ethiopians"? If you don’t know some of the oppositions challenged by Garvey to Haile Selaissie it’s you who are ignorant or are in denial. You conveniently see in on-sided way. You can do that. Like I said everyone has his or her own right of opinion.
Also, as far as I know Revolutionary African leadership was not only confined with Haile Selaissie in Africa. In Ghana OSAGYEFO DR. KWAME NKRUMAH was moving against colonialism and neo-colonialism and building a more powerful Revolutionary base for the freedom of Africa. Nkrumah carried and literally opened a base for training African freedom fighters. During the same period President Ahmed Sekou Toure was moving to build one too, just like Mwalimu Julius Nyerere in Tanzania, Jomo Kenyatta in Kenya and PATRICE LUMUMBA in Congo. These outstanding leaders were ALL carefully building a stronger Revolutionary base of power in Mother Africa.
Futher, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was identified with Dr. Nkrumah more than with any other African leader! It began in 1958 with the formation of the Ghana-Guinea Union, followed by the Ghana-Guinea-Mali Union. It was Dr. Nkrumah who persistently pursued this goal of an OAU! It was a final a summit conference met in Addis Ababa in May 1963 that resolved the divisions, united the leaders, and established a common Pan-African Organization. The OAU was Dr. Nkrumah's ideal! At practically every meeting of the OAU until his overthrow in 1966, it was Dr. Nkrumah who continued to campaign relentlessly but unsuccessfully for the transformation of the OAU into a continental government of a United States of Africa. It is one thing to say that the land of Ethiopia proved to be a source of inspiration for African Nationalism but it is quite another thing to say that Ethiopia build the OAU whereas it is historical that it is Ghana who first staged for the Union of Africans nations. Do some deeper research and you will see for yourself what I’m talking about.
Lastly, that is a fact that many brothers and sisters in the world are not Rastafarians and therefore are not fascinated with the His Imperial Majesty image. Their hope lies in their own African Heroes. It is my opinion that that all Blacks leaders who created a mass following against the White racist society are messianic figures in our History. Haile Selaissie was not the peak hero of the African/Black Nationalist masses. For Haile Selaissie the “African strategy” was to get freedom through cooperation with the Euro-American society. From a political point of view this so-called freedom through cooperation ( and to love our enemy) is irrational and wasn’t sure going to work when we consider that the Euro-American attitude of individualism in thought and actions is primordial. As a Radical African/Black Nationalist am I supposed to follow the political instructions of such a leader? Hell no!!! I don't look forward to unite or pardon the enemy. Compromise with the Euro-American Imperialism means slavery for African/Blacks!
