Re: Chilling call to murder as music attacks gays *LINK*

I think the headline of this article is misleading... as the article itself makes clear the state and church in JA must bear at least as much responsibility for the attitude that it's OK to murder gay people, as some musicians... but it's easier to focus on a few youths from the ghetto than it is to focus on PJ Patterson and the churches.
Capleton and Sizzla are regurgitating what they've been fed since childhood, and what they've been fed since childhood comes from the same church and state, at least Sizzla and Capleton have redeeming qualities in that they reject some aspects of that church and state, and do teach some positive things, the church and state have no redeeming qualities, they are just to physically and mentally enslave Black people and poor people, period.
This is not to say that these guys should not be criticized for such lyrics, in fact I've criticized them for it in the past on this same forum and even been called a 'battyman' by some idiots because of it (the one white boy 'bongo whoever' comes to mind), but the fact is no one would hear those lyrics and then go out and act on them, if they weren't already pre-conditioned by society to do so, with or without Sizzla and Capleton, gays would be getting murdered in Jamaica, and regardless of the fact that SOME West African societies were certainly very intolerant of homosexuality, I maintain that it is British Victorianism which is at the heart of this hate, just like its at the heart of most of the social problems the carry beyond faces, so I find it ironic that these same white english people now want to "arrest" performers when they come to the UK, but they ain't trying to "arrest" PJ Patterson or Jamaican church leaders when they visit.
Another thing is, gays have become a scapegoat for a lot of the tension and pressure in society I think, well, to people using gays as a scapegoat, think about this, when was the last time an organized group of gay people got together and lynched Black people, shot us down without trial, imprisoned us for nothing, it is not gay people as a group doing that, its rich white people and their lackeys of whatever color or sexual orientation, it's the government, police, judges, that are doing that, so if we need a scapegoat let's let them be it, BOOOM BYE BYE PON A BEAST BOY HEAD, RUDE BOY NUH PROMOTE NO NAZI COP DEM HAFFI DEAD, you sight, cah dem a walk round on dem beat and dem harrassing natty dread, dem run fi a toilet plunger from outta de toolshed, send fi de matic and de uzi instead, shot the po-po come mek we shot dem dead...
