All Pan Africanism is asking black folks to do is to practice African culture where ever you happen to be. Not nigger culture, not trying to white on the fringes culture, but African culture in it's many manifestations. This is simple but apparently not easy. We can learn a lesson from Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italians and all the other ethnic groups who have resolutly decided that they are determined to practice their own culture where ever they go, no matter what. That's the first step towards self respect as a culture and the respect of others. Once we decide that we are Africans and that we are putting the African agenda first no matter where we are and where we go we will be a formidable (no longer sleeping) giant. I think Harriet Tubman said it best when she said she would have liberated a lot more Africans, if they knew they were enslaved. As long as we tolerate calling ourselves niggas and then acting it out, and basically living lives that benefit European cultural needs over those of Africans, we will remain at the bottom. We need to respect and practice African traditions 24/7. It doesn't require moving back to Africa to be an African, it is what you are.
