"YES BABA BROUGHT UP A TOPIC ABOUT DEATH IN THE FOUNDATION TEACHINGS OF RASTAFARI WELL MY ANSWER IS THIS THEY WERE STUPID YES THATS MY OPINION, HOW CAN YOU READ THE BIBLE AND REALLY BELIEVE YOU WOULD NOT BURY YOUR BROTHER OR SISTER IF THEY PASS ON IN LIFE DUE TO SOME NAZARITE VOW, I NEVER DID BELIEVE IN THAT SYSTEM."
Honorable Priest and jahreal, give thnkhs for the post and u questioning what ones hold true. according to some research that i have done on the vow of the nazarite(which was really a PIECE of the whole livity), these people were OVER PURE, meaning that they didnt take no chances defiling themselves with the Inergy of the dead body as they ALWAYS wore white linen robes, ALWAYS took bathed in rivers and such. also, the locs on their head symbolized pertaining to "Holy" things and not worrying about death and such. i really dont see a problem with it, for in the environment that they lived, they didnt cling to their immediate families as others did, because that would take them off of there goal. i personally dont go to funerals because of the same and i cried alot thinking that life is crazy, but then i got more focused and saw it as a necessity to pass when InI is ripe for it.
i wouldnt answer the elder part, i'll leave that up to Baba and others.Selam-One Indigenous Love
