Allow me to involve myself in this.
rob_afreeka, why, according to you, should it be wrong that Ayinde posted this? I ask this because you sound so disapproving. What else should Ayinde’s reason be, other than mainly to inform? After all, it’s news from Africa (or isn’t it?)! Such an incident would happen anywhere in the world, in exactly the same way under similar circumstances, INCLUDING IN EUROPE! … (Now, don’t tell me you’ve never heard of a person getting lynched or beaten to death in Europe for such a crime, even for those paedophiles who commit sexual crimes against children). It would seem to matter less what race (or races) the people involved are, because it happens!!
I do not think Ayinde supports such swift violence (for the mere reason that the culprit was a white missionary), but I think Ayinde would react with understanding for any parent that would lose their child in such a careless way, especially in those village circumstances where, most likely, none of those affected Afrikans even owns a car! It is, I think, pardonable to reason that in any -- (normal) -- human society, the emotional reaction of the people losing the child would be similar (if not worse in some: like going ahead to even lynch the ones who ran away to hide in the surrounding bush).
Further, I do not think that continental Afrikans need “… missions of afroamericans .. or just let the children die …”, as you wrote in another post. This may appear to be caring on the outside, but it is the same type of talk -- (with the same paternalistic attitude) -- one hears a lot about Afrika from the outside: That Afrika resembles a helpless child!
