This is a message board where people are supposed to reason out things. Of course there will be disagreement. If it were not so, there would not be anything to reason about.

As you should know, Africans are a quite diverse set of people, and added to this, we have the issues following Slavery and colonialism to work out. There will be disagreement, and the only thing we ask here is that people do not lose sight of the fact that this is a Black Liberation Movement whose main interest is the development of Africans. We do extend a helping hand to others who are respectful of our interest, but we do not intend to let them change our focus.

I know it is difficult for some to grasp Rastafari dealing with other Africans who do not worship HIM, but I am sure that Haile Selassie worked with other Africans who did not worship him.

The point is, the Rastafari Movement is first and foremost a Black African Liberation Movement, in my opinion, and from OUR point of view it will always be open to all Black Africans. We cannot be a liberation Movement for Black Africans and exclude Black Africans.

Anyone who demands that another Black African must worship a particular way to be involved in a Black African Liberation Movement is no different than a missionary. We here are about ensuring there is a safe haven for Black Africans who are becoming an endangered set, especially on the World Wide Web. If I were involved in a science, math, or aerodynamics website, it would always be open to addressing Black African concerns. All concerns will include at their core the issues that affect all Black Africans. If I were to be different here, I would be encouraging abuses to myself.

I know there are Whites and near-whites who are particularly disgusted that all Black Africans are not here to simply serve their interest, so I expect they will always be around fomenting dissent. These interactions help us to see clearly the Black Africans who have courage, discerning abilities, and character, who can sustain a long fight and take this movement forward.

So consider this discussion part of Black Africans getting to know each other and working out our stories.
