Come on, admit you were wrong or defend your position without trying to abuse/hide behind this speech by Haile Selassie. You are using that speech out of context, in an attempt to justify your position.

WHEN you post a thought/article/research etc. that is not YOURs, yet you may identify,sympathize, agree with the points presented, then YOU are sharing information. yet you assume when i/or some one you do not share agreements w/ does the same, in this instance i am 'hiding' behind the words of Haile Selassie. add'ly the poster indicated that using the word 'tribalism' when reffering to actions by some africans as being an insesitive or somewhat bigotted word-i posted His majesty's speech in part to illustrate that Africa leaders, have too used the word 'tribalism' to describe actions that have been taken by differing groups of africans against one another to impede the continents progess.
no mention on ejas post that i responded to was there a mention of the CULTURE that these different groups possessed ( Mandinka, Wolof, Kru, Mossi, Hausa, Kongo, Ashanti, Ibo)-never was their mention of Amhara CULTURE. just names of groups/nationalities/ethnicities. with that in mind the author detailed no intention to TEACH/REASON about the different facets of these cultures, but assumed that their was an assimilation by Rastafari people to embrace Amhara culture; whereas in fact most Rastafari people I know have created a culture in and of itself that celebrates the beauty of all African cultures-as exemplified by drumming/chanting/nature based spiritual outlook. these simple facets are all aspects of a wide range of african cultures. i have yet to met any African born and raised in the west person, comment that they originated from the Amhara-so the whole argument posted in the beginning of the mans post was a baseless generarilty.
it is almost laughable that you ask for 'proof' to refute the statements of the observations of ejas words that i felt were baseless. when you state that ones identify with semites/amharas blah blah blah-and you dont know anything about what ones identify with, then you are stating an opinion that is baseless. if you ASKED people who/what/culture they identified with, AND people RESPONDED that they identified w/amahara/semites etc-then you can base YOUR ALLEGATION on observed evidence. if you are not doing as much before you state your opinion as an observed fact then you are wrong, or at the very least your opinion has yet to be proven based on any sort of evidence.

As a result of my not seeing any indegenous west African patriots on the template of the Board, should I assume that you do not embrace your western African heritage?

Because you have no pictures of Strong Black African women on the heading of this website-should I assume that you are sexist-or do not apprecialove the contribution of women?

Based on the general design of this webpage in reference to the "images" displayed, i could assume that Rastafari speaks only identified with Marcus Garvey and Haile Selassie as being the primary patriarchs of the Ras Tafari movement.

If I did not take the time, to ask questions, read reason, observe then I could make many GENERAL assumptions about you/Rastafari Speaks based on the surface presentation, and I would be as wrong/ill-informed as i believe Eja to be in those generalities he posted in the thread in which you refer.
