~ That is true indeed. That was in 1975. I can clearly remember being offended by Ali’s conduct.
Ali won that ‘Thrilla in Manila’ fight, but he took a severe beating. I always believed that the racist taunts caused the fight to be especially brutal. Ali did lose his mind for that fight, and many believe that his Parkinson's disease stems from the beating he took during that fight.
