I too understand where you're coming from, however: "Afara-Akans" did not originate just anywhere on earth. We proceeded from the continent of "Afara Aka" and some of us are brown, some of us are yellow and some of us are even white (Albino Afara-Akans).
The history of all the world's peoples has been influenced by Afara-Akans, and the history of Afara-Akans in America did not begin with slavery.

That is a great point, seeing that I approached it from the eurocentric (1492 and on) p.o.v.
HIS-story has it beginning with slavery, but you are right...Arawaks, etc were doing just fine before this.
Please see that I am saying that black history month is force-fed into us from a slavery/diasporan beginning rather than the aboriginal/indigenous.
