well maybe I am suppose to stay off this board? as I was just writing my last post my computer monitor blew up...so now I am using my sons monitor that is also on its way out...
anyway, I don't see how you could read benefit into my question....or read into it that I was saying to cater to us whites?
"Do you think that the reason that these issues are brought up is to call us whites to defend Africans or the goals of the Rastafari Movement?"
It was a rephrasing of what you initially said about "white supremacy/racism being brought up to remind us whites who and what we are defending".
I feel that thinking we are being reminded who(blacks) and/or what (goals of the Rastafari Movement/Africans)we whites are defending...is a white mindset type of framing. We are in no position to think we are defending anything, we need to be thinking along the lines of surrendering, relinquishing, and downstroying our white privilege/benefits=white supremacy.
It is in our benefit to face white supremacy/racism.
What is of value in life?
Principles over ego? Position over values?
It is in our benefit to do so...while hording material resources and postions(exaltation of ego)in this society we lack humanity/spirituality...
