I would be pretty surprised if you can find any example of my opposing the idea that melanin had a role beyond that of vitamin sythesis. I HAVE reasoned pretty hard about the causality of whiteness, and talked about the role of melanin in that. But that was in the context of rejecting the 'white people are all decendants of albino africans' theory.
And, in general terms i tend to think that most folks are created more or less equal, but there are plenty of examples of substances that have a neurological effect that extends beyond the immediatley apparent. This is all very tricky stuff though. You could sum up the current state of knowledge on nuerochemistry and the effect of even well known agents such as serotonin and dopamine as being sketchy at best.
Hard to do experiments on the brains of living people (which is a good thing...)
Dont mind being scorched a little, just would prefer it to be for the right reasons where possible.
