Bro. Selassielive, I have much respect for the contributions of Martin and Malcolm, they both made the ultimate sacrifice, but that does not blind me to the limitations of their respective movements. Martin became a pawn for the christianized African-American bourgeoisie agenda and Malcolm the pawn of Islam and the Hon. Elijah Mohammed.
The failure of these movements to maintain momentum, rests on their limited appeal. Both had some characteristics that resonated but overall they both sought to restrict or define Africans using non-African standards. African liberation was conditional based on adherance to non-African ideals.
Straddling the fence lead to one inevitable net result. One cannot fault Martin or Malcolm for being products of their environment.
They are perfect examples of why any true African liberation movement has to be 100% African at its core.
