A commendable idea, and something else I had considered, however, I am not an educator nor do I have close links to any. Growing up in T&T I had a Danish Pen Pal, go figure; remnants of a legacy of colonialism. I also remember attending classes with exchange students from the US, parts of Europe and Latin America, but never an African.
I believe a connection needs to be established among the young. Over time this will develop into a familiarity with the languages and the geography of Africa, thus smoothing the way for sustained adult interaction.
