Do I know white supremecist racists. Yes, indeed I do. At times in earlier parts of my life it would have been the guy looking back in the mirror, though i would not have known it at the time,

hindsight.....

In fact it is the knowledge of such people that was part of the motivation for my question.

I would beg your indulgence for a little story about my daughter.

She often complains about being mistreated by a particular girl at school. To my surprise she invited her home to our place to play. They got on fine. So I asked my daughter why she had said the stuff she had earlier. She replied, "Daddy, X is fine when we play by ourselves, its only when she is with other people that she picks on me. Its just because she is scared no one will like her." Nine years old and already ten times as wise as i will ever be.

Hence my question about compassion for white supremecists.

Is it just that they are afraid too?
