One of the people I live with is diagnosed "schizophrenic", I suspect that she also may be "possessed" by "evil spiritual forces" or "not particularly nice spiritual forces" at any rate.
Specifically I think there may be some sort of "unquiet spirit" that hangs around her, and I think it may be the spirit of some sort of sailor or pirate or something like that, who had sexual identity issues and was ostracized by his fellow sailors/pirates. I think he may have murdered some people as well (whether in the "line of duty" as a sailor/pirate, and/or he killed some of his fellow sailor/pirates because of his ostracization.)
Someone who comes over to our house who is "sensitive" to these things swears that she could almost "see" this sailor/pirate person hanging around my housemate. Then the other night when my housemate was keeping me up ranting and raving and moaning and laughing and screaming, certain things she was saying "clicked" with this "sailor" character. Particularly at one point it REALLY seemed like she was speaking in someone else's voice and (antiquated) vocabulary.
She's also convinced that she's actually Tibetan, although she is as Welsh as any other "mush" who you might find round "by 'ere" dribbling out the remains of their fifteenth pint of the night while yelling at rugby players on a TV screen. But that's another story. As a writer, I must say that the amount of material I'm gathering for future books more than compensates for all the sleepless nights and shouted rants about "I don't speak Welsh, it's a filthy language for filthy people! I'm TIBETAN!"
Anyway, just sharing a bit of where I was coming from when I started this thread. Whatchall think, you think my housemate is really "possessed" by an "evil/unhappy/arrested-developed spiritual force", or she's just a nutcase and that's how her particular form of nutcaseness manifests itself?
