Sounds very patronising and insensitive to the plight of people who actually live in Africa and have first hand hand experience of the situation.
I am hoping this is not what you meant, but it came accross to me like, "Africa should burn now, it will be over by 6.45 p.m. Meanwhile, let's have a smoke, shall we?"
