Now maybe I do not see the context of your presentation, but I will try to address it. First, if you take the source of a light, for instance the Sun, you will notice that energy in the form of light travels in every and all directions from that source...if it were charted, there would undoubtedly be a "center" (source). Now, why would that limit the light? How far can that light travel? Why would something with a definable source/center require limitation and how is that measured?
