Re: What is the contention about?

Greetings Jah Melku

What Ayinde is saying is that both the light and the dark skin person has MERIT. They have the same knowledge, abilites, and character. Therefore the dark skin person is more qualified.

I agree with that. That is a no brainer.

But that is not to say that a brown person is not able to lead and be effective also.

I think this is where my problem arose with his reasonings.

Although we must accept the general rule, we must leave room for exceptions to the rule.

We are dealing with people with emotions, thoughts, feelings and not inanimate objects.

So we cant dismiss there value to the Black experience.

I dont like to equate colorism with racism but I will to hopefully make my point clear.

To Ayinde:

We often generalize that white/european people are the devil. But, being rational people with intelligence, and knowing that we have not met all the white people in the world, we will be erroneous to literally assume that all white/european people are wicked. We can generalize and say the COLLECTIVE is wicked, which may be more acceptable become of historical evidence.

The same goes when u sight SYSTEMICALLY, darker blacks feel it more than lighter blacks. This is true generally but it is not all inclusive. There are darker blacks who was born embracing Babylon's god (born with money). And there are light skin blacks who have been born with nothing, raise in the ghetto. I can sight this personally...and not just one or two instances.

I had a problem with you appearing to have a premise that left no room for exception.

But generally speaking, I do agree.

Peace
