Blessed Love Baba Ras Marcus,
It is good to read that the I is well enough to attend the gathering and beat drums; Give Thanks.
I was recently blessed with the opportunity to spend some time with Brain Meeks, currently a professor at the UWI in Jamaica. Do you know him?
He was here in Montreal to speak about Caribbean radicalism, from the Black Writers Congress in Montreal in 1968, to the Grenada Revolution. Meeks has much first hand experience of the revolutionary uprisings in Jamaica, Trinidad and Grenada. He places a great deal of emphasis on the role played by Rastafari in the West Indies from the 1960s on, something that I have also written about, and we had the opportunity to speak about InI movement. He is very interested in how Rastafari has been able to outlast the political movements of those times and we spoke about the diversity of the movement as it has spread throughout the African Diaspora. I mentioned that the internet has provided InI the great opportunity to reason with elders such as the I and he seemed to know who you are.
I just wanted to share this with the I, to express gratitude and respect.
Love, Love
