As I walk this earth I look around and see no growth Coldness I feel My blood boils as persons Choose to accept negativity Is it so hard to truth and reality? Why can’t everyone see the truth? Or is it they choose not to see it But yet they know it is there What sense does that accomplish False pretences, False insecurities Everything seems to be non-reality How is it I see truth Yet they don’t see The Brainwashing, The Ignorance A man drowning himself in his tears of lies Praying one day to overcome his ways Yet answering to a Massa of another kind everyday How is it I see truth Yet they still don’t see A young mother on bended knee Trying to supply food for her young and needed So she sells her body daily A father unwilling to accept responsibility Yet in true ways he is the baby daddy To both momma and daughta O lord have mercy Why so hard to accept truth Is it so fair to say truth hurts? Blacks dying daily If not physically, yet mentally And we say “we are free” Yet we are still slaves To this day of humility We are not bond by physical chains But by ones people hardly see Or accept to be reality Chains of insecurities, denying responsibilities Brainwashing, ignorance and racial differences The famous strong hold of them all Truth why are persons afraid of you Yet they sing them “Aint Neva Scared” Yet we can face each other Put bullets holes in another, just like us For the most foolish securities Talking about securing territories Disgusting ourselves in tranquility Truth why can’t they accept you Why can’t they accept that blacks can be? Something of dignity Great pride and authority They aint no “niggers” in the world today A name which has a foul taste and stench On any black man or woman of any class or authority Whether rich, in-between or poor That name still lingers on like a thief in the night On the prowl It lingers on in our very minds today Why can’t they just see great blacks paving a way? It was said to have a dream And so many dreams have been accomplish in all ways Truth one day I hope everyone else Finds you like I did And when they do, it won’t be too late Because right now they don’t realize what they do Or even their fate |
