Title: Global Pan African Congress 2005 Zimbabwe Post by: Oshun_Auset on December 15, 2004, 08:05:10 AM Global Pan African Congress 2005 Zimbabwe
From: GPAC The United Kingdom Organising Committee for the GLOBAL PAN AFRICAN CONGRESS 2005 Zimbabwe called for this GPAC to be held in 2006. However, Comrades in Zimbabwe thought hat the date was too late and supported the call for it to be brought forward. As a result of discussions and consultations, the date was brought forward to 13 - 17 August 2005. The basic structure for organising this GPAC 2005 Zimbabwe is the National Organising Committee. We are calling on Pan Africanists in every country with a significant African population to seize the initiative, take control of the process and lead it forward. Set up National organising Committees for the GPAC and then organise and mobilise for Zimbabwe in 2005. This way, the process to Zimbabwe 2005 will be open, democratic and non-exclusive, unlike 6PAC in Tanzania and 7PAC in Uganda. Each National Organising Committee must elect one female and one male Representative (for gender balance) onto the International Organising Committee. The first Planning Meeting of the International Organising Committee is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe in late September. The GPAC will be hosted by the SAPES Trust (www.sapes.org.zw). A Zimbabwe Organising Committee is in the process of being established. The United Kingdom Organising Committee is established. This GPAC will be significantly different from all previous PACs in that the AFRICAN FAMILY IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA will be involved in all stages of he process up to 2005 and beyond. We expect National Organising Committees to be established in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Panama and other countries in that region and that they will be represented at the Planning Meeting in Harare. I must tell you that an 8th pan African Congress has been called for by among others, the ANC of South Africa, SWAPO of Namibia, BDP of Botswana, MPLA of Angola, UDF of Malawi, MCP of Malawi, CCM of Tanzania, MMD of Zambia, UNIP of Zambia, The Kingdom of Lesotho and the Kingdom of Swaziland. It seems to me that this 8PAC will be another Trojan Horse in the same way that the Monrovia Group was a "Trojan Horse" (Ndeh Ntumazah) fighting the Casablanca Group comprising Kwame Nkrumah (Ghana), King Mohamed V (Morocco), Gamal Abdul Nasser (Egypt), Modibo Keito (Mali) and Sekou Toure (Guinea). It is important that this period in our history be revisited. It is of vital and crucial importance that Pan Africanists worldwide and the Global African Family demonstrate our solidarity with the Zimbabwean Revolution (The Third Chimurenga) and the land Restoration process in Zimbabwe. The Historian Femi Biko is fond of saying: "Everything above ground comes from below the ground." Africa's vast wealth is in the ground and Africa must control its wealth and use it for the benefit of Africans, "those at home and those abroad" (The Honourable Marcus Garvey). The struggle for Zimbabwe is a struggle for the heart, soul, spirit, mind and body of Africa for Western imperialism to continue to rape and plunder Africa's vast wealth. That is why Zimbabwe is in the eye of the storm and the epicentre of the struggle between Western imperialism and Pan Africanism. This is one battle hat pan Africanists can not afford to lose. FOR PAN AFRICANISM - ONE UNITED SOCIALIST AFRICA! FOR THE RESTORATION OF AFRICAN CULTURE AND A RETURN TO THE AFRICAN WAY OF LIFE! Title: Re: Global Pan African Congress 2005 Zimbabwe Post by: Oshun_Auset on December 22, 2004, 09:52:16 AM I might go as the female rep for the chapter I am a member of(only 2 consistent females in the group and I'm the only one with vacation time available)...But their is male rep of the local chapter that is definately going(He already has his ticket). There is a large Zimbabwean community where I live...But they are difficult to recruit to Pan-Africanism. My best friend(also a Pan-Africanist) and I have actually been blitzing a local Zimbabwean church in an attempt to recruit...Hopefully interest will be sparked.

So far up I feel like you don't reach out to continental Africans. You never asked me to join affiliation to your group why? I have tried to contact you in the not so distant past and you didn't respond to my e-mail so I figured you weren't interested(in keeping contact). You know when and where our meetings are if you wanted to attend(considering you know Bendeli, he said he also tried to recruit you in the past), or at least you know when and where to find out about them. Our methods of recruitment are to blitz the local college campusses mainly. We hit up 3 every 2 weeks. We also pass out propoganda at every cultural event we attend. We also have been spreading propoganda at Gambian/Senegalese, Kenyan, Nigerian, Ethiopian, Sudanese, Zimbabwean, and Tanzanian events and buisinesses. We actaully hit up the continental communities on a more frequesnt basis than the U.S. born because they are better organized. Currently there are several regular attendese from Somalia and the Sudan. If you would like to come down to Pan-African for an orientation meeting they are every other Sunday @ 5:30pm. Looking forward to seeing you. B.K May I ask to please explain what infirmation you are basing your opinion on? I hope it wasn't the one event you attended several months ago. The reason I ask is I am perplexed how someone who isn't active with the blitzing for the organization, would know who the organization is reaching out to? Your opinion is quite ironic actually. Put it this way. We(the propoganda army) are all ill right now from being exposed to the cold weather from hitting up 3 different continental community events this weekend alone. We actually have more continental African aquaintances and contacts than U.S. born at this point. Now wheather they choose to show up for the actually study group and events is a whole different mountain to climb. As you know, people from the continent are largely occupied with making money to send home to family, or to establish themsleves here(which is somewhat understandable). We don't ask people to become members directly, it is up to them whether or not they choose to consistantly come to meetings and events, then they automatically become militants and then cadre. Most people aren't consistant unfortunately(the capitalist system and current economy makes this difficult). But attendance has been improving. If you would like to consistantly attend meetings and organize with us we would be more than happy to have you. We need all the help we can get. Well, I participated in some of your meetings but I didn’t feel like I was carefully selected to infiltrate you. But one thing I can say is the AAPRP has developed some clever economic and political ideologies beneficial for all African peoples in ways in which the Motherland can recover. So, from now on I will give a closer look at your Organization. And I sent you emails you never replied too! Don’t act offended if I ask about that. True, I'm not a cadre of the AAPRP and don't know the facts of the Party but if you were truly reaching out to continentals, seems to me nothing of short emails will daunt you as you can join me in PM in this site. I've always been in touch with your organizer Bandele, he always hears from me time to time, so I don’t think I've ran away. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing you too at the Pan-African spot this week.. It's really hard to get in touch with a Pan African group in Cali, be it So Cali or No Cali. I'll send you the contact info when I have a chance. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing you too at the Pan-African spot this week.. B.K I think the misunderstanding that has occured is that we specifically don't "carefully" select anyone to join on purpose. We try to keep it as egalitarian as possible. Anyone can join, it's supposed to be a party of the masses, so we attempt to treat all people, reguardless of African culturual/political/spiritual/educational development as equal candidates. Sometimes the one's with the least knowledge are the one's the most thirsty for it. Often African-Centered people dismiss the need for politically organizing because they are "caught-up"(for lack of a better term) in cultural and spiritual activites or self development. I apologize if you feel the organization didn't want your individual membership from any lack of recruitment on my part...that was never my intention(I would have never invited you to a meeting in the first place if that was the case) Pinto actually is in charge of sending out the bulk e-mails, but to equate that to the A-APRP not reaching out to the DFW's entire continental communitee is a huge and inacurate overstatement. I can guarantee we go out of our way to recruit continental Africans, to the point that those born here sometimes critisize us for doing so(we can't win for loosing). If you choose to become active with us, you will see. Looking forward to organizing with you Sister. |
