in kswahili they spoke to me in amaharic they spoke to me in twi they spoke to me in kikongo they spoke to me, they took me to places unknown i saw ken sara wiwa and the plight of the ongoni people and the rebels of nigeria, they spoke to me in creole and i saw the haitian revolution they spoke to me and took me to the carolina sea islands and showed me the afrikans in the carolinas, they spoke to me in patois they took me to jamaica and i saw marcus garvey, they spoke to me in bantu and i saw zumbi dos palmares, they took me to the mohenjo daro valley where i saw the untouchables of india, they spoke to me in zhande and told me about the plight of zhande people of southern sudan, then i saw patrice lumumba, they spoke to me in zulu, then i saw steven biko and walter sizulu, they spoke to me and told me that the problem in africa in tribalism, that if we dont conquer ourselves and the enemy from with in we will neva be free, they spoke to me, abouta brain new afrika, a new dawn under united states of afrika, they spoke to me, and showed me maurice bishop they showed me the horros of slavery, and how some our anvcestors fought agaisnt arab raider and europeans with bravery. It makes alot of sense and somehow relates to the spiritual connection i experience everytime i board a ship. I can feel their souls and the misery they went thru, off course not as they experienced it, but I imagine and just wonder if i would have survived to the end or chose to suicide by jumping into the ocean and be eaten by the sharks than taken into slavery.
