Title: Growing Resistance in Mexico! Tune In Sunday to UhuruRadio.com
Post by: bsup on September 09, 2006, 05:24:16 PM
On September 5th, Mexico's top electoral court declared conservative candidate Felipe Calderon the winner of last July’s shaky presidential election with 35.7% of the vote, a tiny margin of one half percent over his closest competitor.

Supporters of leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador have refused to accept the verdict of the fraudulent elections and have maintained a month-long blockade of Mexico City's main downtown boulevard. Obrador has announced plans to build a parallel government that will cater to the poor and launch street protests against free trade reforms and privatizations of government enterprises.

On Sunday, September 10th, Nyabinga Dzimbahwe will interview Benjamin Prado of Union del Barrio, a revolutionary organization fighting for the liberation and unification of Mexican people both north and south of the illegitimate U.S. border.
