Title: Uhuru Movement member arrested - International call-in to the jail tonight!
Post by: UhuruRadio on December 21, 2007, 02:30:19 AM
Valerie Sanders, a member of the Uhuru Movement in St. Petersburg, Florida, is being held at the Pinellas County jail on false charges of grand theft. To safeguard Sanders and secure her immediate release, it's urgent that all supporters of free speech call the jail immediately.

Valerie is being framed by Boley Centers, Inc. because she spoke out after being fired for her affiliation with the Uhuru Movement. She and Angelia Waller, Uhuru Movement Chairman Omali Yeshitela's daughter, were both fired this month for no reason except they are associated with the Uhuru Movement. Other individuals associated with the Uhuru Movement have been notified by Boley that they are being terminated from their HUD housing assistance.

Boley has violated federal law in arbitrarily terminating housing assistance from eligible residents based on their political aff iliation. They must immediately reinstate Sanders and Waller with back pay and restore the housing status of the residents or should be denied further funding from the City of St. Petersburg.

International Call-in beginning Thursday night, Dec. 20th

    * Call the Pinellas County jail at 727-464-6391
    * Dial extension '0' and ask for "booking"
    * Tell them that you're calling from the Uhuru Movement and we're demanding the immediate release of Valerie Sanders who is being held on charges based only on a false allegation orchestrated by Boley.

If you see this on Friday, call-in then. Stay tuned for updates on the situation on www.UhuruNews.com and the Burning Spear Uhuru Publications / Uhuru Tours website: www.BurningSpearUhuru.com.

The Uhuru Movement is also raising bail money. Please email info@uhurunews.com if you can contribute.

Two things...

Has Uhuru solicited Pro-Bono legal counsel or Legal Aid?

Are you willing to publish or link the charges here (it should be public record)?

That way, an attorney can review the case and at least offer pro-bono legal advice if not representation.

You have stated that these are false charges.  Would you care to elaborate on the ENTIRE situation?
