Altars are sacred places, the most focal point of most faiths. Your own altar in a quiet room or area of the house could be place where you meditate, read, listen to music or just get away for a few minutes without interruptions. Whenever we have a space like this we consciously and unconsciously empower it with intention and our own energy. We make it a Power place, a sacred place without our home. My own altar is filled with books, stones, crystals, candles, jewelry, herbs, pictures of Nature archetypes, and well-known ancestral liberation fighters. I love my altar it gives me insight and healing. For those of you who need help setting up your altar, here are some general meanings of the candles colors you can use for your altars.

Cranberry Red - Love, passion, courage. (1st chakra)

Orange - Strength, success, joy. (2nd chakra)

Yellow - Clairvoyance, communication. (3rd chakra)

Green - Healing, prosperity. (4th chakra)

Blue - Meditation, tranquility. (5th chakra)

Purple - Spirituality, intuition. (6th chakra)

White - Purity, protection. (7th chakra)

Black - Absorb negative energy. (1st chakra)

Pink - Emotional love, harmony. (4th chakra)

Apple Green - Emotional healing, protection. (4th chakra)

Silver Blue - Deep wisdom, the moon. (5th chakra)

Red/Cherry - Self-love, friendship. (2nd chakra)

Apricot - Gentle strength, joy. (2nd chakra)

We should first show solidarity with each other. We are Africans. We are black. Our first priority is ourselves.

nice list. my only admonishment is that black is not for beginners. and that many negative spirits assoicate its use with evil, so using by the uninformed could cause great danger.

When we have the determination to restrain our lower desires, the door is opened for us to fulfill our highest aspirations.
