The wind must blow
The river must flow
These pages of history must turn
This fire must burn
This fire must rage until it reaches of age
Where it mellows into a smoldering coal
Providing sparks through the wisdom of the old
Glowing so softly that fools think that it is out
But the spear of the nation is alive and burning
In the very few that are flying

Don't you see that the tide is turning
Do you see consciousness slowly growing?
Do you see truth spreading? Slowly but surely
Where are you heading?
Down the road of carnal gratification?
Can money buy salvation?
Must the car I'm driving,
the money I'm making/not making define me? make me forget my divine self; my blackness
Must I just stay silent in the back
And do nothing while you attack........ me?
My Afrikaness is not a badge of servility
But rather a fiery banner for uncompromising revolutionary activity

The spear of the nation is burning
The tide is turning
Have you forgotten the mother that raised you
have you forgotten the mother that raised you, while others slaved you
have you forgotten the mother that praised you when others cursed you
that appreciated you while others hated you
that nursed you while others wanted to hearse you

Our loss of history has caused us to lose sight of  our divine destiny
but hope is alive, lying among our conscious elders who like  a smoldering coal
will provide the knowledge to unfetter our soul
and spark the fire that will take us higher
who is the ember who will make us remember
that we used to traverse the universe
refining character
extracting divine energy from matter
to draw meaning and inspiration from the expanse of ignorance
channeling it into the higher aims of this existence
and leap and burst through the illusions of carnal confusion

Let us delve into the sea of our consciousness
Let us bathe in the sacred springs of our self
Let the fertile water flow through the dark crevices of our being
The ancient ankh resonates into a proliferation of bliss
Out of this sacred union of male and female energy cometh life
Let us arm ourselves with this key of life
The exploding drum dissolves in vibrating forces of energy
Yellow meets blue,
Words vibrate, word sound and power shower and flower
making green
Out of Nature cometh red, blood, bright and passionate
A red drop of truth, meeting the beating heart of an Afrikan past
And EXPLODING............

Overflowing like the tears that have gathered for many years
Knowing that I and I will never die, I fly
And why must I and I fly?
Because.......... This wind must blow
This river must flow
This fire must burn
The tables must turn

this poem highlights certain key issues on the path that i am trodding. The concept of God-consciosness is very central in Rastafarian doctrine, we have been hailing the divine in man/wombman for thousands of years. Refining character and understanding history is very important in the continual process of understanding self. The doctrine of Supreme Good must be revisited. Anyone can talk about God, we see it every day: but experiencing divine energy directly is important in understanding self. And the experience is the evidence. Word sound is power. In fact our ability to communicate/speak on this level has played a very serious role with regard to the speed of our evolution. Spirituality must permeate every sphere of activity/the revolution must permeate every sphere of activity.

And why must I and I fly?
Because.......... This wind must blow
The river must flow
The tables must turn
The fire must burn

Dip the head of your sharpened spear
into the burning hot fire
of blackened aged embers
that simmer a flame
...burning

Impale the Consciousness of Man
where the truth drips red gold and green

I sis feel the sharpness of your point

yes Tyehimba
the tide IS turning

crest the embankments of your tide
and flow Lion flowwwwwwwwwww

churn and turn the whiteness of sand
into the black pearl of Afreeka
where gracious mama
awaits your return

...till then
blow winds blowwwwwwww
and carry the power of thy words
to every ear that hear
