Ever inhaled an orchid's aura bathed in Morning's  misty hue?
She wraps its magic with ribbons of golden light and royal blue,
Then she scatters diamonds that remained from lastnight's dew
and  adds Love and Gentleness in colours so bold.
As you greet her silent presence
hanging out in the breezy  cold,
Is it cold or is it that you are too lazy to see
what you miss everymorning in sleep's luxury?
Look.
The rains hardly fall
and the soil is moist yet dry,
yet Orchid lifts her smile to the sun
in solemn reply.
From every seemingly lifeless stalk springs
a budding posse,
fragile, yet  strong reaching to the  West Indian dirt,
but when Baba sun passes by they dance in sunshine exuding fragrant mirth.
He tickles their shy faces how they blush in his revellry,
Oh oh in his loving touch
they open their hearts for all the  world to see.
So trusting so effortless Eden's doors open to greet
the spirit of  Orchid  here she takes her seat.
In the waxing and waning of  Mama moon in the turn of Goddess's hour glass,
Sweet as they came sweetly they go ,Alas their time has past.
As sad as it seems I weep not in my heart
For like the Orchid my life is passing
My fragrance shall remain though I too shall depart.
