Madonna blasted for using the n-word on Instagram

Either feeling extremely comfortable online or just lacking good judgement, Madonna dropped the n-word Friday on Instagram. The middle-aged singer took to social media to upload a photo of her 13-year-old son Rocco in the boxing ring.



“No one messes with Dirty Soap!” Madonna captioned the photo referencing the teen’s apparent nickname in the sport.

“Mama said knock you out! #DisN—” she added.

Fans quickly reacted to her ridiculously random use of the n-word and Madonna yanked down the picture. She later put it back up with the caption; “Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d— haters!”

Madonna fans are now divided with some noting that she’s far from racist considering that she has two adopted black children and others slamming her for using the word.

Madonna apologizes for calling her son the N-word; still takes heat on Twitter

Black Twitter brought the proud and defiant Madonna to her knees after she foolishly called her son the N-word while he was practicing in the boxing ring the other day.

Initially, enough verbal darts were shot in her direction to inspire her to take the photo down and repost it with another inflammatory phrase.

But after telling people to “Get off her d—…” because people getting upset that Madonna is calling her son a “N—-” is just all too shocking for her, she showed contrition for her imbecility:

“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention.  It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression.”

Madonna fans are now divided with some noting that she’s far from racist considering that she has two adopted black children and others slamming her for using the word.

Does Madonna think that by adopting two Black children she is in someway entitled to use the "N" word? Did she think her white privilege made it okay to use the word without repercussions?  
  
Her use of the word shows her lack of sensitivity to the racist meaning of the word. Her response "Ok let me start this again. #get off of my d— haters!” clearly illustrates her insensitivity and the superiority she assumed. She did not initially acknowledge that she did something wrong! She clearly does not understand the history behind the word. She will never understand the racism Black People experience when White people use such words because of her white privilege.
 
Additionally, white celebrities adopting Black Children appears to be the trending "thing" . Celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Madonna are known for  adopting Black children. Do these celebrities think that by adopting Black children they are not racist (a question I constantly ask myself) or is it for publicity or is it to show off their humanity side? Do they think it is quick fix to racism? Additionally, by having Black children, how do they plan to to address racism?

A few hours ago, I observed Madonna and her adopted son, David Banda, walk the Red Carpet for the 56th Annual Grammys donned in identical attire. This came over to me as a sleazy public relations stunt in light of the very recent controversy of her using the N’ word when addressing her biological (white) son.

Are we to feel that everything’s okay now because she’s a “cool” mom who takes fashion tips from her black son (or so she claimed)? How does her PR team feel that this makes her look less racist?
