Benin has been trying to appease the disquieted ancestors and their descendants of the diaspora. The following site is just one of their efforts to acknowledge the wrong they participated in. The Apology. The conference then and those held after it attest to the good in humanity.
http://www.whro.org/benin/apology.shtmlI think our ancestors deserve the same acknowledgement as white Amerikkkans display towards their own even in spite of their recorded barbarism waged on other peoples. White Amerikkkans revere their ancestors. Their monuments and mentioning of their dead at every occasion attest to this practice. But why do many diasporians lack this honor and dignity? Healing is the first step towards nation building!
