I didn't omit cannabis purposely. In fact, I'm not the author of this list. I copied and pasted it here from another board. And you are right, as a medecine this plant has always been revered as a relaxant and a good pain reliever. Personally I don't smoke it as pot. I prefer to enjoy life, without the additives. Peace.

I would add: cures glaucoma, calms anger and stress (not good for depression though in my experience), increases appetite (great for those undergoing chemotherapy or suffering from AIDS), sexual stimulant (unless you use too much), helps communication between the subconscious and conscious minds, hence facilitating creative expression especially music, helps access the spiritual side of life amidst all the hustle and bustle of the rat race, helps open communication with other people, eliminating the barrier of fear and timidity between people. Need not necessarily be smoked, can be used as a tea or eaten. I suppose it is an 'additive', but then so is a cup of chamomile tea. Personally, I used to smoke every day when I came home from work, then I stopped for about two months, nowadays I smoke about once a week or once every two weeks, and get a much more powerful vibe than when I use to smoke regular.
Two tings I will never give up, herb and coffee (the combination is great when you sitting down to a creative project like writing a short story).
For those who maintain a permanent natural high without the use of any substance whatsoever, that is great, for me, I love herb, even if I reached such a state I think I would still burn just occasionally, even if it's once every couple years.
