Dark Deceased
What are the Dark Ones?
http://members.tripod.com/sunbull/id24.htm#what_are_the_dark_ones_

In the Kametic tradition those who didn't live a life according to the divine principles are known as Dark Deceased. A dark deceased is a spirit that is a ghost or phantoms in the spiritual world. This is one thing that Hollywood did get correct is the fact that they will torment you as if there was no end. They don't cause things to move (at least not most-thank God!) and buildings to suck up into hell. But they drag you down, so down that you will understand what a real vampires is, one that sucks your life force away.
Dark Deceased didn't just become dark in their afterlife. No, they started off that way while on earth. They were the most onry, negative, depressive, lying, gossiping, back-stabbing, dark magic, rapist, murderers, tyrants, addictive, racist, molesters, violent people on the planet. They did whatever the hell they wanted to do without any ethics or morals. They lived their life to the fullest, or we should say foulest as if God never existed. While the Shepsu were busy dealing with ethics and doing what is right they were partying their lives away all the way until death and when they died. Guess what? It was too late for them to change.
So, they stand on the other side of the celestial door, where people of the light have ascended, all alone. In the dark, where there are nothing but other dark spirits continuing their existence in fear with no love, no warmth, no remembrance, nothing.
Do you understand a Dark Deceased is a tormented soul that may have died at that bar after a bar fight and they are still there looking for hope. They may have over dosed and in a bedroom and are still trying to escape. They are lowly, dark spirits that are still living with no light in their existence. They may have been led the wrong way but whatever the case they are not loved nor respected at all.

This is what happens when you live a life of hell, death and destruction. But, you can attract them also with your thoughts, your dress and so on. It is not any mystery why people who wear dark colors all the time associate with death and are depressive because they are attracting these types of spiritual beings. Just think of the guy who pour libations (a drink) to those killed in a shoot out or loss some other careless way. Do you think they have any peace? What do you think they are invoking? It is only when a person wants to do better that they can get out of the situations they are in.

If we attract a dark one it is because they want a second chance to learn a lesson they could have learned while they were living. In that case, things seem to go wrong almost all the time but if you hold on to the wits of your Shepsu, things will turn around.
Then There are some who die without knowing while in the process of doing things and what they do is attract themselves to you so that they can learn how to get out of the problem they once had while alive. The most precious thing you have is your life but when you forfeit it on foolish things. You miss out and really miss the joys of living. People think that spiritual rules are such a drag but spiritual rules aren't meant to be a drag. They were made to keep you from having to live a life in a true spiritual hell. Remember the movie Ghost, it is partially true in theory that is.

So don't forfeit the most precious thing that you could ever have in the world, life because it is a true blessing that you were born and that you are living.

OlOrisa_Olukun,

Thank you, that is very similar to what Christians believe. Some christians state outright that demons are in fact, dead people, who are angry because they have lost their human form and are forced to wander to and fro over the earth.

You mention the Ghetto custom of pouring libation, as one of pouring libation carelessly and bringing about dark ones.

Do you know more about this custom among African Americans? How did they retain it and then in your opinion, distort it?

Well, libation is one of many africanisms. I dont believe it requires an explanation. We're Afrikan, whether we recognize it or not. We have customs, language etc that have survived.

As for Christians, I would say that a very small segment recognize the ability of the deceased to torment per se. In any case, this article presented is an elementary explanation of dark deceased and how they come to be and how people interact with them.

For starters, in Afrikan spirituality we actually perfect ways to elevate these spirits so they can process their life lesson and move on to better things.

Christians are just taught not to call on the dead. It is believed that demons imitate our loved ones and lead us on the wrong path.

Of course as you know, the biggest segment of christiandom, Catholics actually pray for the dead.

good for you and the other christians. However, this is the Indigenous Spirituality Forum. And ideas such as ancestral reverence are looked upon favorably. Perhaps you should go to the mainstream religion forum and discuss such European ideas such as demons pretending to be your loved ones. You will lots of support there.

Please do not come to this forum discouraging people on their search for their ancestral customs. its misleading, sneaky and disrespectful to come a forum dedicated to such conversations and try to put them down on the sly by feeding into people's fears - which were incidently - provided to them by european captors.

OlOrisa_Olokun,

I apologize but could you clarify?

This forum is for the indigenous 300 million people of Africa who are Christians? Or the indigenous 300 million people of Africa who are Muslims?

Or is it in fact the indigenous religions?

i.e. the religion practiced by less than 1 percent of Africans?

I agree with the previous speaker you shouldn't bring Christanity or Islam here I am one the people who come to this forum.  Because I want to make some sense out of my life and why I am here? Why the strong interest in the black past? As far as I'm concerned.  Christianity is nothing but politics by a different name. Under the banner of Christianity the white man came to Africa murdered God and replaced God with himself now most Africans on the continent or in the diaspora worship the white man.  At least on an unconcious level as for Islam no time for that either, a very clever business man united his people against byzantiam Christianity and it's Commerce and called God Allah.   Didn't stop the Arabs murdering Africans by the millions and then setting up a few Caliphs Pashas etc who incedentally could not have children.  Because many not all were the survivers of castration Saudi Arabia used to have millions opon millions of black people now they have been mostly bread out.
