African Union lifts Tripoli’s suspensionADDIS ABABA — The African Union (AU) yesterday said it had lifted its suspension of Libya’s membership and called for an investigation into the death of Muammar Gaddafi.
The AU’s commissioner for peace and security, Ramtane Lamamra, said the decision made on August 26 to suspend Libyan representatives from all AU activities had been lifted. "Therefore the National Transitional Council (NTC) is invited to take the seat of Libya at the AU, effective immediately.
