Message to the People,
by Marcus Garvey
This work is a classic for anyone on the path to building total self and racial pride. Marcus Garvey's understanding of people and how the world functions is great. And he in turn applies his knowledge to uplift his race first.
Message to the People covers subjects such as Intelligence and Education, Leadership, Elocution, God, Character, The Social System, Economy, Self-Initiative, Commercial and Industrial Transactions, and Living for Something.
Although sometimes in seems that Garvey is explaining things to babies who can't think for themselves, each chapter on the whole is advancing.
Through his wisdom presented in this work (and his life work with the U.N.I.A.) Marcus Garvey proves that he is a man and a gem of intelligence given to his people for their upliftment and realization.

One of the driving messages I got from Marcus Garvey in this book was about dealing proactively with inferiority. Inferiority is one thing Marcus Garvey doesn't stand for, and he shows ways over and over to use your mind to combat inferiority whenever it shows up.
Overcoming inferiority may be one of the most critical issues in human life. Conquering the sense of inferiority may be the foundation for Negro greatness and human greatness at large.
