I hear about blacks suffering from low self esteem and inferiority complexes. In Brooklyn, New York black men carry strong personas. And in the school where I work black students have a great time making fun of white people. It occurs to me that blacks really see whites as inferiors. I dont see the low self esteem - what I see is power and confidence. It appears that the African spirit is rising. And what to say it's gonna stop.

Just my opinion, when I was young we did the same things, but in reality I think it was just a front, cause when the rubber met the road as adults we still tried to assimulate and be like them as much as possible. Of course now I have learned, but I think for the most part it may only be a front.

Of course I beg to differ….

There is a distinction between black joe making fun of white people (you frequently hear him saying: " white people have straight hair of the ape, they are ugly, nasty, stinky, etc.), and black joe feeling the need to take responsibility for the quality of his life. That does not exist in most black people. Slavery and colonization, until this day, mark the black race in negative ways! Most black people still don’t see POLITICAL NATIONALISM as important. They still don’t emphasize love for self that is beneficial to our freedom and survival. Political nationalism shows us true self-esteem. That’s a fact.

We should first show solidarity with each other. We are Africans. We are black. Our first priority is ourselves.

One of the negative effects of slavery and colonization is the education system in the urban public schools. Blacks are not getting the attention they deserve and there is a lot of underdeveloped black intelligence. The majority of the kids I deal with I doubt will ever get to thinking about Political Nationalism. The African Americans that I perceive are aware of the supremacy system which has allowed them to step back from it and reclaim their identity. Again, blacks exude more power than whites at the street level. You got to take hip hop into account and the impact its had on unity, freedom of expression and courage from conformity. There is a paradoxical view in the minds of young blacks that's to the effect of 'these whites are such losers, I cant believe we're stuck in their system. And the students let their thinking be known to us white teachers. This is one form of chanting down Babylon. To start making real changes the youth need better education. Their intelligence is undeniable but the poor quality of the school system has got to be turning young blacks off from education and steering them into mediocrity. Generations of black adult minds that are in the position to give their lives to the deeper purpose all start in the schools. The majority of young minds are not self-initiation and need guidance - constructive instruction. The sense of indentity and esteem and growing stronger - where the failure lies is mass quality education in the formative years.

Blacks are envious of whites so we will never get anywhere. We want equality so we will never get anything.
We have place African faces on christian systems in an effort to out christian. That is why we can do nothing. We need to stop trying to beat the white man at his own game, and play our game.
